Summer 2019 Dates:
Due the lack of sufficient instrumentation to form the ensembles for our Summer Orchestra Academy, MCYO has decided to cancel the camp for 2019.

The Strathmore Summer Orchestra Academy is new weeklong intensive summer camp for High School string players lead by MCYO Music Director Kristofer Sanz. String Players will enhance their musicianship through orchestral rehearsal and sectionals in addition to special workshops such as Exploring your Voice, Composition, Musical Styles, and one-on-one audition preparation.

Enrollment Deadline: June 15, 2019

Grade/Age: The The Strathmore Summer Orchestra Academy is open to string players entering 9th to 12th grade in the school year 2019-2020

CAMP INCLUDES:

  • Challenging and Passionate repertoire
  • Sessions on performing in eclectic styles
  • Vocalizing
  • Audition excerpt pull out sessions with area professionals to enhance individual and ensemble musicianship while preparing for the 2019-2020 MCYO season
  • Concert open to the public at the end of the week
