MCYO is thrilled to announce its first Chamber Music Festival for High School musicians in June 2021. If you are looking forward to making music together with friends and work with outstanding coaches, you don’t want to miss this opportunity! The Festival will include 10 hours of Chamber Music sessions and a final concert that will take place on Wednesday, June 30, at Strathmore.
WHEN? The groups will meet at Strathmore on Mondays and Wednesdays in June (June: 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, & 30)
Rehearsals will be scheduled between 6:00 PM and 9:30 PM. Once groups are assigned, musicians will receive music and a detailed schedule.
WHERE? All rehearsals will happen at Strathmore.
WHO CAN REGISTER?
-All MCYO string musicians grades 9 to 12 are welcome to participate without audition.
-NON-MCYO musicians grades 9 to 12 are welcome to register and audition by submitting a recording of a solo that showcases their playing abilities.
-MCYO’s Chamber Music Festival is open to string and piano musicians. Exceptions will be made for qualifying 8th-grade players.
ALREADY HAVE A GROUP? If you already have a pre-formed quartet or trio you are welcome to register as a group and work on your next project with our outstanding coaches.
We may not be able to place everyone who registers in groups as we have limited capacity at Strathmore. We will announce the group placement shortly after our registration deadline of May 1. Tuition checks will not be deposited until students are placed in groups.
All CDC guidelines will be followed such as limited students per square meter per room, all-time masking, temperature checks, social distancing, and any additional guidelines that are current in June 2021.
