2010-11 Orchestra Audition Excerpt Requirements

- Orchestral excerpts are required for strings and flutes ONLY. Other instruments
DO NOT need to prepare an orchestral excerpt
- For two SEPARATE auditions: for
TWO different orchestras, you need to prepare BOTH excerpts.
- For COMBINED auditions: you need to prepare the excerpt for the orchestra
you'd like to be considered for. It is recommended to prepare the higher orchestra excerpt.
- Combined Auditions include: Chamber Orchestra + Philharmonic audition (10th grade strings) AND
Chamber Strings + Young Artists audition (6th grade strings)
- For Flutes:
- Chamber Orchestra + Philharmonic: SAME excerpt
- Young Artists + Symphony: SAME excerpt, but Young Artists needs to prepare first 3 and half line of Glinka (until the break) and "Rehearsal E" to the end for Beethoven.
